We finally got to move into our new apartment last week and I’m so excited to share our new home with you! I had the hardest time waiting to move in. I was buying everything months in advance and my boyfriend wanted to kill me when I was buying blankets and coffee tables 4 months before our move in date but I just couldn’t contain my excitement and in the end everything came together pretty perfectly even though I did have to return about half an apartment worth of stuff that I had over bought…WOOPS thank goodness for Marshall’s and Tjmaxx’s great return policies.
I fell in love with this couch after many free swatch orderings, which unfortunately were much harder to picture a large couch in than I had hoped. I picked one and prayed that it would come in with a normal looking color. I went with the Bailey Papyrus Blended Linen and the swatch really doesn’t do it justice its the perfect light oatmeal shade that goes great with almost everything. its super easy to spot clean which was a concern of mine ordering such a light colored couch. My boyfriend has already put the fabric to the test buy spilling a chocolate sundae on it…. this may be a long year, but it came out soo easily with just a wet paper towel! The swatch online makes it look a bit more pink/purple tinted but it isn’t at all and the default picture is actually a darker swatch than it appears. if you would like more close up pictures of our couch coloring I’d be more than happy to share!! The whole process through wayfair was truly a pleasant experience and everyone I spoke to on the phone was super helpful and very patient with my millions of questions and concerns about ordering a non returnable custom couch online. There is no better price for a custom upholstered couch and you can’t beat the quality and trust me I searched and searched for 6 months. It is super long and comfy my 6 foot boyfriend can lay fully horizontal with extra room to spare and is super deep perfect for cuddling up and watching a movie!!
One of my favorite pieces was this West Elm Coffee Table I loved the industrial look and how it really complimented the cream couch. The top is raw mango wood which has a great mix of light and dark colored wood making it mesh with so many different rooms and I wasn’t worried that it would clash with our amazing exposed wood beams. Most of the coffee tables that I found with a similar look were crazy expensive for fake wood with veneer tops that I was afraid wouldn’t last so it was worth spending the extra few bucks to get a solid wood top with a natural stain. *** I have relinked the updated version of the coffee table that west elm replaced the raw mango top with because the exact table sold out after posting this, along with a crate and barrel version that I am in love with.
Ordering everything online made it super nerve wracking as I waited for everything to come in, hoping it would all mesh together. Picking a rug was the hardest part for me and a west elm rug sale (which is still going on) gave me the push to purchase one, well in fact purchase two. I couldn’t pass up free shipping and 20 percent off so I ordered two colors for the chance to be able to compare them in person. I ordered the Ivory Jute boucle rug which looks to be a cream color online and it sort of is but has a slight yellow tint to it and was a bit too light with the cream couch. I went with the Flax colored jute boucle and love it. West elm was super great about the return and we were able to drop it off in our nearest store for a free return which is hard to find with rugs.
I’ve linked most of the decor below but a lot of it I found at Tjmaxx and Marshalls. The couch pillows I actually bought at Walmart last year and they still carry them. I believe they were 10 bucks a piece which is a STEAL for pillows. As much as I fell in love with all the Anthropologie pillows I found I couldn’t justify spending an additional 200 dollars on pillows alone. I’ve linked the exact blanket that is hanging on the back of the couch its originally $75 but is on sale and is the perfect cream thick knotted blanket.
